Quick Announcement: The Bookshelf Corner is now on Twitter! You can follow me @bookshelfcorner .

Thank you to Lois @ My Midnight Musing for tagging me. Check out her blog to read lots of fun posts. You can also read her responses to this tag here. The Ruler of the Books Tag was created by Ariel Bisset.

IF YOU WERE THE RULER OF BOOKS…

WHAT BOOK WOULD YOU MAKE EVERYONE READ?
Anything and everything by Tamora Pierce, John Flanagan, Maria V. Snyder, Lynn Kurland. Always.

WHAT WOULD YOU ABOLISH IN BOOK CONSTRUCTION?
Deckle edged books. I don’t know why but I’ve just never really liked books bound this way. Probably because I can sometimes be obsessed with things being straight and organized.

WHAT AUTHOR WOULD YOU COMMISSION TO WRITE YOU ANY BOOK?
Oh gosh, that’s a tough one. See my answer to the first question haha.

WHAT BOOK WOULD YOU DEMOTE TO THE LIBRARY BASEMENT TO MAKE ROOM FOR NEW BOOK?
A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf. I don’t remember anything about this book besides not liking it (it was an assigned summer reading book) and falling asleep before I even got past the first page (that may or may not have been because of the book).

WHAT COVER ARTIST WOULD YOU COMMISSION TO MAKE A MURAL?
Gene Mollica. His company does amazingly gorgeous cover art. I would definitely hire them to create book covers for my novels.

WHAT CHARACTER’S FACE WOULD YOU PUT ON A COIN?
Miach of Tor Neroche from Lynn Kurland’s A Novel of the Nine Kingdoms series (books 1-3). He’s kind and funny and lovable 🙂

WHAT BOOK WOULD YOU AWARD THE “RULER OF BOOKS” 2016 PRIZE TO?
I’m going to apply this award to books I read so far in 2017. And the prize goes to….Zodiac by Romina Russell! Close runner-ups were Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell, Paintbrush by Hannah Bucchin, and Prophecy Awakened by Tamar Sloan.

    • You’re welcome! It was (as always with books) tough to pick a #1 haha. I’m glad I had the opportunity to read your book. Can’t wait for book 2. I hope you have a wonderful day as well!

  3. I love your answers for this tag. I never enjoyed my assigned reading books in school so I don’t blame you for demoting A Room of Ones Own. 😀

    • Thanks! And yeah, as much as I loved reading back then I was never really a fan of assigned summer reading for school.
