I started my blog on January 22, 2016. Long before that, I had learned in school (don’t remember when) about the ins and outs blogging and how to run a blog. I enjoyed the lessen so much that I wanted to start my own blog about two of my biggest passions: books and writing. It took me a while to actually get it started. I had to figure out the types of content I would post and how I could make the blog unique to me. Not to mention I can be a perfectionist at times so I wanted everything to be just right. The hardest part was figuring out what to name the blog. That took me the longest to decided. Fast forward X amount of time and, thus, The Bookshelf Corner came to be. I’m not sure what made me think of using that as the name but it sounded cool and I loved it.

1.Don’t feel obligated to post every day. Post as little or as often as you’re able to and not because you feel you have to. This is something that can make blogging feel stressful and not as fun as it can be. We all have other obligations that will take precedence over blogging, such as work or school. Sometimes life happens – you’re sick, on vacation, have a family emergency, or had a bad day – and you just don’t feel like posting. And that’s okay! People will understand. We’ve all been there. Set a posting schedule that works best for your situation.

2.Find your blog’s niche. It can be one specific thing or multiple things. My passions are books and writing, so my blog’s niche centers around things related to those areas. A blog that has a focus – a niche – is easier to understand than one that’s all over the place.

Congratulations!! I love the advice you gave- especially about not feeling obligated to write every day because blogging can get really stressful when you make it a chore and force yourself to write everyday which is not fun for you or your followers!

Thank you! And yeah, I experienced that during the early days of this blog. I felt bad if I didn’t post every day but life happens and sometimes you just need that day to get stuff done.

Thanks so much for tagging me in this one! I totally agree with your blogging advice! 🙂

I’ve actually done this award a couple of times now and it’s safe to say I’m out of advice so I’m going to miss this one out for now, but SUPER thank you again for nominating me!! ❤ ❤
