Rating: 5 out of 5
Recommend to Others?: Yes

Summary (via NetGalley):
There is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I’m coming for you…

Serving Death and the Reapers has been my life for centuries. I’ve always put my duty before everything, even my yearning for Death. But now, she’s fading – our foe is bent on destroying her and he will stop at nothing until he does. Death holds the key to our survival. I will do everything in my power to stop her from disappearing. For her, I will ensure we have the best fighting chance. For her…I will cross the divide keeping us apart.

My Review:
Dark Alpha’s Awakening is an epic paranormal romance to love and appreciate.

I am in awe of Donna Grant’s mastery of the written word. Her sentences, her diction were just…seamless – the epitome of “the right words in the right order.” From beginning to end, I was enamored with the characters, intrigued by the complexity of the plot, and captivated by the storytelling and how she brought everything together.

I love this new approach to Death and Reapers. You get a fresh take on Death’s origins and what compelled her to create the Reapers. I also love that fae were involved – one of my favorite beings to read about. Really, this book just had a little of everything I love about the paranormal romance and fantasy genres.

For me, this was the perfect story. It’s the kind of story I love to read. I don’t know if or when I’ll go back ad read the other books (woops!), but I have become an instant fan of Donna Grant and I know others will too if they read her books.
