Happy Wednesday, Bookworms!
Have you added any new books to your shelves recently?
I made an unplanned trip to the bookstore the other day. I was going to wait until after summer to buy more books but I couldn’t resist.
Here’s a picture of my haul:
Haikyu!! (vol. 4 & 5)
The Royal Tutor (vol. 15)
Restart by Gordon Korman
Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon
Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim
It was a good trip to the bookstore and I’m happy with what I was able to find, half from my wish list. I spent a lot of time feeling giddy about all the books I recognized from my tbr and wishing I could take each and every preciously bound story home with me.
I’m finally starting my Haikyu!! collection! If you haven’t watched or read Haikyu!! I highly recommend it. There’s just something about the Karasuno volleyball team, actually all the characters, that really draws you into the story. Characters have such incredible depth and growth. The passion and drive of the players is so moving. Plus, short athletes are representing! I think there are 45 volumes total, so it’s gonna take me several years to acquire and finish.
This haul is somewhat an apt representation of the kind of reader I am. I read books of any age and most genres. I just love reading and absorbing all of these stories, ideas, and perspectives gives me life.
I’ve already placed these books within my bookshelves and they’re beautiful. Makes me happy to see them there.
Have you read any of these books? And, if so, what did you think of them?
