Are you as happy as I am that it’s Friday? Because I’m really happy it’s Friday. Always a good feeling to feel. It’s been an unexpectedly busy, tiring week that I haven’t had much time or energy for reading. But now that it’s Friday and the weekend I just want to get lost in the fantasy worlds of my current reads. I hope you all have a great weekend and get to go on bookish adventures too!
Happy First Day of Summer!
Can you believe that we’re in a new season already and that the year is nearly halfway over?! I can’t. It’s going to be a hot summer for sure, which I’m not looking forward to much. BUT there will hopefully be plenty of time for trips to the beach and loads of summer reading.
Have a spectacular day!
Do you have any bookish plans this weekend?
Thank goodness it’s Friday and I have no work because I am tired. My current read has been slow going, but with a three day weekend ahead of me I’ll be able to make more progress.
One good thing that’s happened today is that I received an e-arc for Sophie Sullivan’s latest book, A Guide to Being Just Friends (Jan 17, 2023). This one is a different female MC and different Jansen brother as MC. I’ve enjoyed all of her books so far. They’re very sweet contemporary romances.
There were two other reviews I meant to post this week but I got a little off track, so hopefully I’ll be all caught up by the end of next week.
Also next Tuesday is the first day of summer! Can you believe it’s nearly here? I already know which books I’m going to read first, House of Beating Wings by Olivia Wildenstein and Wild Sign by Patricia Briggs. I can’t wait to share with you all what books I plan to read this summer.
Have a great weekend!
I have a four-day weekend ahead of me and I plan to use it to the fullest. Feels good to have a little time off work to read, relax, and do something fun.
First order of business is finishing my current read today or tomorrow. I’m halfway through Bet on It by Jodie Slaughter and absolutely loving it! The main characters just took a major step in their relationship, so things are getting more serious.
Then the rest of the weekend is taking care of some business, writing a review, and starting a new book.
I previously had an idea of what I wanted to read next, but I’m kind of in the mood for something light and fluffy. Thinking about maybe taking a break from my winter tbr to read a few manga volumes. But I do have one more arc I need to finish this month. So maybe yes, maybe no, who knows. I’ll be starting a new book regardless and (hopefully) make decent headway before going back to work.
Have a great day and enjoy your weekend!
Happy First Friday of 2022! How has your year been going so far?
It’s been a bit topsy-turvy at work this week due to rising cases and weather. At the moment, my area is at high risk. So we are doing our best to keep calm and stay safe.
I haven’t made much progress in my current reads. One I’m really enjoying so far and the other I haven’t started but it’s all good. Trying not to rush getting reading done.
I got new books around Christmas and with Christmas money. The last of the books finally arrived yesterday, which put a big smile on my face.
Pictured above are all the physical books. I got:
- Spy x Family by Tatsuya Endo (volumes 2-6), and
- Lady Knight by Tamora Pierce
A few ebooks I got (not pictured):
- Dark Alpha’s Caress by Donna Grant
- Fire & Flood by Demitria Lunetta
- Archangel’s Kiss by Anna Santos, and
- The Watchmaker’s Daughter by C.J. Archer
You can surely guess how happy I am to have more books to add to my bookshelf and kindle.
Spy x Family – I hope to have time to set aside to binge read soon. Lady Knight – this is one of my all-time favorite books by one of my all-time favorite authors so a reread is incoming! Dark Alpha’s Caress – I’ve been meaning to get back to this series for a long time and when I saw the ebook was 99 cents I HAD to get it. Archangel’s Kiss – a freebie that was recommended in another author’s newsletter. Fire & Flood and The Watchmaker’s Daughter – other freebies that sounded interesting enough for me to want to try.
That’s it for today. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Stay safe! 💙
Happy New Year!
A brand new year brings new beginnings and chances
To start anew or improve.
To learn from the past
And forge forward with renewed purpose and unshakable determination.
To live life even fuller than you did yesterday,
To laugh twice hard as you did yesterday,
To smile wider than before.
Because this is your year to make the impossible possible.
I wish you much joy and good health and success in 2022.
And I hope you get to read all the books and get lots and lots more!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, fellow book bloggers! I hope you all have a wonderful day, a joyous weekend, and that you get lots of books! I leave you with some cheerful tunes below!

As Always, Happy Reading!!!
Happy Tuesday and Happy First Day of Winter!
What’s your favorite winter activity?
I’m happy it’s winter, also known as the curl-up-with-a-good-book season. Winter is my favorite season next to autumn.
I don’t have a particular favorite winter activity that I like doing. I like looking out at the world blanketed in snow. Everything just looks so pretty. Snow is fine as long as I don’t have to shovel it. That is a chore my back is not up to anymore.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing my winter tbr along with another review to share for 25 Days of Book Reviews (which became more like posts when I can 😂).
Have a great day, everyone!
