Top Ten Tuesday: Books with Character Names In the Title

Top Ten Tuesday blog post

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme originally created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now run by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Happy Tuesday! Today’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is: Books with Character Names In the Title. An easy and fun prompt this week.

I chose ten of my favorite books with a character’s name in the title. I tried to include characters and books I love but don’t talk about as much. All of the books mentioned below are 5 start reads of mine that I recommend if you’re looking for a new middle grade, young adult fantasy, lgbtqiap+, graphic novel, or contemporary romance to read.

Books on my Top Ten Tuesday list are:

1. Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce

2. Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston

3. Ana on the Edge by A.J. Sass

4. Dajas Book by Tamora Pierce

5. Erak’s Ransom by John Flanagan

6. George by Alex Gino

7. Maya and the Rising Dark by Rena Barron

8. Radha & Jai’s Recipe for Romance by Nisha Sharma

9. Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

10. Yona of the Dawn by Mizuho Kusanagi

I like when the character’s name is in the title because it gets you excited for what’s to come. That something epic is about to happen so you better be ready. It also makes the story seem more personal. These kinds of titles roll off the tongue so nicely.

AS ALWAYS, HAPPY READING!!!

Top Ten Tuesday: Titles or Covers That Made Me Want To Read/Buy the Book

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme originally created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now run by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Happy Tuesday, Bookworms!

I love today’s prompt because it’s all about the power and majesty that are book titles and book covers 🧡💗💙

You know I love a well crafted title that rings like the most beautiful lyrics poetry or give me goosebumps. I’m equally partial to some cover love, but I still need to be interested enough to decide to read a book. That doesn’t mean I haven’t come across my share of cover buy worthy books.

I made my list half focused on titles, half the covers. All of them books I’ve never read but want to 😊

My top ten list of Titles or Covers That Made Me Want To Read/Buy the Book include:

TITLES

A Phoenix First Must Burn: Sixteen Stories of Black Girl Magic, Resistance, and Hope edited by Patrice Caldwell

Top Ten Tuesday: Book Titles That Are Complete Sentences

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme originally created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now run by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Happy Tuesday, Bookworms!

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is: Book Titles That Are Complete Sentences.

This was more challenging than I though it would be. I looked through my entire “read” shelf on Goodreads to find books that matched this prompt. Most of the titles I found are declarative and imperative sentences, and children’s fiction.

My top ten includes:

1. Thanks A Lot, Universe by Chad Lucas

2. The Pigeon Has to Go to School! by Mo Willems

3. Take A Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

4. Adulthood Is A Myth by Sarah Andersen

5. Wednesday Wilson Gets Down to Business by Bree Galbraith, Illustrated by Morgan Goble

6. Our Class Is A Family by Shannon Olsen, Illustrated by Sandie Sonke

7. Llama Destroys the World by Jonathan Stutzman, Illustrated by Heather Fox

8. Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith

9. Tristan Strong Punches A Hole In The Sky by Kwame Mbalia

10. You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme originally created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now run by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Happy Tuesday, Bookworms!

Today’s prompt is: Super Long Book Titles. This was a challenge because I don’t know how many words or more is considered a “long” title. So I chose books based on the number words and syllables.

The Little Book of Big Feelings
