My Favorite Read

I actually read a fair amount of books in June. Hands-down my favorite was Spy x Family. It was funny, endearing, and made my heart oh-so happy. I can’t wait to read more!

A very close second was Under the Whispering Door. This novel was good in a profound way. By the end I was crying and my heart was overflowing with all the feels. Definitely a worthwhile read though I do think one’s view of life and death will dictate your experience and opinion of the book.

Achievement Unlocked!: NetGalley Milestone

I turned in my 100th review to NetGalley! I have been on NetGalley since 2017. Way back in my early blogging days. I’m so thankful for all the books I’ve been able to read or do blog tours for. Here’s to 100 more!

Musical Theater Obsessions

100 Book ReviewsMost of June was spent listening to musicals. When I wasn’t stressing I was playing on repeat musical soundtracks, such as Hamilton, The Color Purple, Rent, Dreamgirls, The Greatest Showman, In The Heights, and Legally Blonde. I also wanted to share in this wrap-up a few songs that I was really obsessed with listening to:

I’M HERE – The Color Purple

96,000 – In The Heights

As Always, Happy Reading!!!

[June 2021] Book of the Month: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Image via Goodreads

Title: Red, White & Royal Blue
Author: Casey McQuiston
Genre: LGBTQIA+, Contemporary Romance, New Adult
Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin
Recommended?: Yes

Goodreads Summary: First Son Alex Claremont-Diaz is the closest thing to a prince this side of the Atlantic. With his intrepid sister and the Veep’s genius granddaughter, they’re the White House Trio, a beautiful millennial marketing strategy for his mother, President Ellen Claremont. International socialite duties do have downsides—namely, when photos of a confrontation with his longtime nemesis Prince Henry at a royal wedding leak to the tabloids and threaten American/British relations. The plan for damage control: staging a fake friendship between the First Son and the Prince.

As President Claremont kicks off her reelection bid, Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret relationship with Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations. What is worth the sacrifice? How do you do all the good you can do? And, most importantly, how will history remember you?
