Stacking the Shelves is a weekly haul meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality. You share all the wonderful new books you’ve added to your shelves (physical, ebooks, galleys, library, audio).
Tell me about your recent book discoveries. Which books have recently caught your attention?
Happy Saturday, bookworms! This week I added more 2022 releases to look forward to with the exception of one that released last year and another that won’t be out for a couple years more. It’s a lovely list includes a mix of historical, fantasy, romance, lgbtq+, contemporary, and mythology. My recent additions are:
A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen (2024)
How to Steal a Scoundrel’s Heart by Vivienne Lorret (May 24)
The Rewind by Allison Winn Scotch (November 2)
The Other Man by Farhad J. Dadyburjor (2021)
Thank You for Listening by Julia Whelan (August 2)
The Valkyrie’s Daughter by Tiana Warner (July 26)
I found some pretty great books to read in the future. I’m most excited for Jensen’s book. I love all of the covers for each book listed. The premises for Lorret, Dadyburjor, and Warner’s books intrigue me. And I love the title for Whelan’s novel.

A few months ago I had an idea to make a playlist of songs I associated with my favorite books read in 2020.
Whenever I read I almost always come across a scene or moment that makes me think of a song or post-read I think of a song that kind of sums up the book. Sometimes it’s more the music than the lyrics. And sometimes it’s not literally what’s in the song be an emotional connection I felt from both song and book. (Really hope this is making sense 😅).
This favorites playlist consists of a random assortment of songs mostly from soundtracks and musicals. All of the books list I have reviews for. If you’d like to check those out, click on the book’s title.
So, without further adieu, here is the soundtrack of my reading year:
“Something Wild” – by Lindsey Sterling, ft. Andrew McMahon – Pete’s Dragon & “Unbreakable” by Janelle Monáe & Kelly Clarkson – UglyDolls

Do you make any TBR lists? Are you a mood reader or go with the flow?
I love making lists for anything and everything. There’s just something oddly satisfying about making a list and checking off stuff you’ve accomplished.Lists also keep me organized and on track towards any set goals.
TBRs are my favorite lists to create. Even though I more often than not change up said lists or aren’t able to accomplish the reading goals I set, I still enjoy making them.
I thought it would be fun to share the types of lists I make.
TBR for the Whole Year
This yearly tradition encompasses a large portion of books from my Goodreads to-read list. It’s a great way to reference back to when creating more focused lists.
Monthly TBRs
Monthly TBRs are a sub list for putting in order what and when I want to read certain books from a themed list. I am very much a mood reader, so these lists often change.
February
February is the month of love and romance and sweets, so I tend to read YA or adult contemporary romances during that month.
I make seasonal TBRs for each season but winter. I focus on these lists for the length of the corresponding season:
Spring TBR (March – June)
Summer Reading (June – September)
also an homage to grade school days
Fall TBR (September – New Year’s Eve)
this list extends into winter because it just made sense given that everything restarts January 1
As a book blogger, I’m always excited to share with fellow bookworms the epic literary shenanigans I’m about to get into. It’s a nice way to connect with others and sometimes get opinions about books on your list that others have already read.
That’s all for today. Just wanted to do a quick post for Friday. Thank you for stopping by!
