Second Library Haul of November (even though I’m still reading books from the previous one shhh!!!)

Happy Thursday, Bookworms!

Today’s post…is exactly what you think. 😊 I had a couple books on hold that needed to be picked up and – since my library will be temporarily switching back to curbside pickup/virtual soon – I ended up taking out more volumes of Yona of the Dawn. I’ve just been enjoying the series so much these past few days that I couldn’t resist. And I’m almost done the books from the last haul, so this is me being bookish-ly proactive. 😂

In this library haul, I checked out:

The Awakening by Nora Roberts

The Dragon Heart Legacy #1
Adult Fantasy Romance

Image via Goodreads

In the realm of Talamh, a teenage warrior named Keegan emerges from a lake holding a sword—representing both power and the terrifying responsibility to protect the Fey. In another realm known as Philadelphia, a young woman has just discovered she possesses a treasure of her own…

When Breen Kelly was a girl, her father would tell her stories of magical places. Now she’s an anxious twentysomething mired in student debt and working a job she hates. But one day she stumbles upon a shocking discovery: her mother has been hiding an investment account in her name. It has been funded by her long-lost father—and it’s worth nearly four million dollars.

This newfound fortune would be life-changing for anyone. But little does Breen know that when she uses some of the money to journey to Ireland, it will unlock mysteries she couldn’t have imagined. Here, she will begin to understand why she kept seeing that silver-haired, elusive man, why she imagined his voice in her head saying Come home, Breen Siobhan. It’s time you came home. Why she dreamed of dragons. And where her true destiny lies—through a portal in Galway that takes her to a land of faeries and mermaids, to a man named Keegan, and to the courage in her own heart that will guide her through a powerful, dangerous destiny…

Last Book Haul of 2020!!!

Sad but true. I present my last book haul of this year. I have more than enough books at the moment to occupy my time for the next several months. There are also certain books I want/need to read before the end of the 2020.

Here is the lovely book mail/haul I received this month:

Let’s begin with the manga. I bought more volumes of Snow White with the Red Hair and Yona of the Dawn.

Snow White with the Red Hair is one of the sweetest romance anime and one of my favorite all-time anime. I love all the characters who are each very likable in their own way. The manga is just as good with all the feels.

Here’s the synopsis (from vol. 1):

Shirayuki is an herbalist famous for her naturally bright-red hair, and the prince of Tanbarun wants her all to himself! Unwilling to become the prince’s possession, she seeks shelter in the woods of the neighboring kingdom, where she gains an unlikely ally—the prince of that kingdom! He rescues her from her plight, and thus begins the love story between a lovestruck prince and an unusual herbalist.

And you can read my review of volumes 1 & 2 here.

Yona of the Dawn is another great anime I love but there was virtual no ending. So far the manga has been amazing and I can’t wait to continue this wonderful fantasy story.

About this manga series:

Princess Yona lives an ideal life as the only princess of her kingdom. Doted on by her father, the king, and protected by her faithful guard Hak, she cherishes the time spent with the man she loves, Soo-won. But everything changes on her 16th birthday when she witnesses her father’s murder!

Yona reels from the shock of witnessing a loved one’s murder and having to fight for her life. With Hak’s help, she flees the palace and struggles to survive while evading her enemy’s forces. But where will this displaced princess go when all the paths before her are uncertain?

I’ve rated this series overall (up to vol. 6) a strong 4 stars.

And finally we have the highly anticipated and concluding book to the Dark Kings series, Inferno, book 18!

I am ready to fall head over heels in love with Constantine’s (the King of Dragon Kings) story.

Here’s the goosebumps-inducing synopsis for Inferno:

I knew what I wanted. And nothing was going to stop me.

King of Dragon Kings. Driven, ruthless, shrewd. The weight of survival for Constantine and his brethren has pushed him to set aside his own yearnings—for now. He’s the most powerful of all Dragon Kings, and Con will stop at nothing to destroy anyone who dares to threaten his existence.

For years, Con has hidden his pain—his desperation—for there is one smoldering beauty that he craves above all else, even if he feels he doesn’t deserve her. However, his enemies are at every corner. There is no one left to trust. But none of that matters anymore: There is only one thing that Con wants. With this one woman by his side, he can fight for the freedom of his fellow men-in-arms. All Con has to do is get her to surrender her heart…and be his for all time.

When I first discovered the author’s books I (whoops!) started in the midst of things, so I’ve only read the two books prior. But it wasn’t hard for me to immerse myself the world the author created or get hooked by the story and characters.

Dragon shifters are the best!

If you’d like, here are my reviews of Fever (book 16) and Flame (book 17); all spoiler free. I really love Donna Grant’s books and would recommend her books to anyone who loves dragons, fierce heroines and paranormal romances.

That’s all for today! Until next time!

Have you received any book mail recently? Are there any more books you’re hoping to get this year?
